Top Ten Reasons to Adopt BIM
29 Sep 2017
1. It’s not new!
Although BIM is a favourite buzzword out there at the moment, at its core, there is really nothing new in it. Its key principles were promoted by Sir John Egan and Michael Latham in their infamous reports on the UK construction industry in the early 90’s, and before them were numerous other government and independent reports which extolled the virtues of collaboration, less contractual relationships, driving efficiency and waste reduction through smarter methods.

Is BIM useful for SMEs?
04 Dec 2017
There is a lot of coverage in the media about BIM, but it mainly focusses on big projects and organisations. It is often hard to translate these large scale examples to smaller scale work, and it’s easy to understand why many SMEs are left wondering, “what can BIM do for me?”
BIM is essentially a collaborative design and construction process, providing an integrated digital solution which not only streamlines construction but also assists the client/ building operator after completion in the operation of their new building. This approach is relevant to all scales of work, but the guidance may need to be “slimmed down” a little to keep it appropriate.
